Status

Resolved — See Solution details below.

Summary

Customer platform admins are unable to install or upgrade to Serenity - Core version 7.8 or newer without first opting in to the terms & conditions for the ServiceNow Store Calendar Component application.

Description

In Serenity - Core version 7.8, a dependency was added for the ServiceNow Store Calendar Component  application (minimum version 24.1.6).

The Calendar Component app requires a customer platform admin with ServiceNow Store access to accept the terms and conditions in order to allow it to be installed or updated. If the customer has not opted-in, the dependency will be shown as a red circle with a slash through it (see solution details below.). A previous version of the Calendar Component app may already be installed, but the customer may still have to go through the opt-in process to upgrade to the latest version.

NOTE: Opting in must be performed by a customer platform admin with access to the ServiceNow Store, Serenity does not have access to and can’t legally accept the terms and conditions documents on the customer’s behalf.

Application Manager App Listing Dependencies

On each App Listing there is a section for Dependencies.

Dependencies for installing x_sehs_core, highlighting the Calendar component requirement.

Application Install Details

This screen is displayed when requesting an Install or Upgrade from the Application Manager in the instance.

Installation details showing dependencies and options for installing the application.

Scope of Impact

  • The Calendar Component app must be previously installed with a minimum version 24.1.6 from the ServiceNow Store in order to successfully install Serenity - Core version 7.8 or newer.

  • Without this store app installed, Serenity app upgrades are blocked and only a customer platform admin with access to the ServiceNow Store will be able to resolve.

Solution

  1. As a customer platform admin with access to the ServiceNow Store, navigate to the Calendar Component app listing. https://store.servicenow.com/store/app/3bfaabe61b246a50a85b16db234bcb5d

  2. Click the Get button.

  1. Review and accept the attached terms and conditions document.

  1. Validate that the app listing shows as “Ready to Install”

NOTE: After acceptance, the ServiceNow Store must sync with the customer instance in order to enable installation of Calendar Component store app. You can force a sync from the Application Manager home, but this is not always immediately successful. Generally, the conflict clears within 30 minutes, but it could take longer.
