After creating a new inspection, users are immediately taken to the Inspection Task page. If the inspection was assigned to another user, that person will receive an email with a link directing them to this same task page. The inspection task consists of two main tabs: Details and Questionnaire, each serving a specific purpose in the inspection process.
Details Tab
This tab provides an overview of the inspection task, including:
Basic information: Title, assignment group, assigned user, description, expected and actual start dates, due date, and the entity (such as a location or asset) being inspected.
Progress Tracker: Displays how many checklist items are completed, unanswered, or have missing information.
Score Gauge: A real-time visual gauge showing the inspection's current score percentage.
Section Scores: A breakdown of scores per section to quickly identify areas of concern or compliance.
Note: Score Gauge and Section scores only display if the template has scoring enabled.
The user can manually assign themselves to the task using the “Assign to me” button, if not already assigned.
Questionnaire Tab
This tab contains the core checklist of the inspection. Each section groups related inspection questions—for example, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Emergency Equipment.
Each question includes:
A title and description
A section to provide a response to each question
Radio buttons for multiple choice response types (e.g., Yes, No, N/A)
Text box for open text responses
A number field for numerical responses
Additional details (if defined) containing specific instructions for each question.
Options to add attachments, notes, or raise an issue if problems are found
Users can work through each section, selecting appropriate responses. Progress is tracked as each question is answered, and scores are automatically updated if scoring is enabled.
Required Notes, Attachments, and Issues
Some questions in the inspection template may require additional input before the inspection can be completed. Depending on how the template was configured, users may be required to:
Add notes
Add Attachments (photos, files, etc.)
Raise an issue (e.g., a finding or corrective action)
When these fields are required, their corresponding buttons will turn red to visually indicate missing required information. The inspection cannot be marked as complete until all required notes, attachments, and issues are properly added. This ensures that critical information is captured for non-compliant or concerning responses, supporting a thorough and accountable inspection process.
