Users with the Inspection User role can easily initiate and carry out inspections directly within the Serenity platform. Whether from the home page or through the Inspections Center, users have quick access to start new tasks and manage existing ones.
Ways to Start a New Inspection
There are two primary ways to start a new inspection:
From the Home Page
Click the "Report an Incident" button drop-down.
Select "New inspection" from the list of quick actions.
This will launch the guided inspection creation flow.
From the Inspections Center
Use the side navigation bar to go to the Inspections module.
Click "Start new inspection" in the top right.
Proceed through the step-by-step form.
Steps to Create an Inspection Task
The guided flow includes four steps:
Select a Template
Choose from active inspection templates that are either owned by the user or shared with them.
Templates define the checklist and settings for the inspection.
Select an Entity
Choose the relevant entity (e.g. establishment, zone, process, or asset) where the inspection will take place.
The tree view helps users navigate organizational structures and sub-locations easily.
Add Inspection Details
Customize the task with a specific assignment group or user.
Enter an optional description and due date for the inspection.
Complete and Launch
Review the summary.
Click Submit to launch the task.
Once submitted, an email notification will be sent to the assigned user and/or group. Additionally, the inspection task will appear in the assignee(s) work queue and can be completed from any device—online or offline.
