Serenity Mobile provides your team with offline capabilities to ensure work can be completed in area with no wifi or limited mobile data.
Enabling Offline Mode
Tap the More tab then scroll down and tap Settings
Under the Offline mode group, toggle the Store my items offline setting to on.
A message will display asking you to keep Serenity Mobile open until the download is complete. Tap Ok to proceed.
Performing the steps above will result in the required offline mode data to downloaded to your device.
Managing Offline Mode
After enabling Offline mode you will have access to additional options and settings.
Deactivating offline mode and deleting stored data:
If you’d like to deactivate Offline mode, toggle the Store my items offline option off then tap the red trash can icon next to the Delete all locally saved records field. This will clear out the saved Serenity Mobile data from your device.
Interval
This setting lets you choose how often tasks and entity data is downloaded to your device.
The default and recommended option is every 15 minutes.
Offline Tasks
This section shows the last time your tasks were downloaded to the device.
If you don’t want to wait for the next interval you can tap Sync now to download the latest tasks and details of the tasks to your device.
Offline Entities
This section shows the last time your entity and organization data was downloaded to the device.
If you don’t want to wait for the next interval you can tap Sync entities now to download the latest entity data to your device
Items pending upload
This section lists any records, activities, or attachments that were created while offline that are currently stored locally on your device.
When your device is reconnected to wifi or mobile data, this list will synchronize with your Serenity EHS environment server.
Offline Mode Best Practices
Key concept: When your device is offline, there is no connection to your Serenity EHS server meaning Serenity Mobile functionality depends on the data stored on your device.
Here are some tips to help use Serenity Mobile while offline:
Sync your device offline storage before going offline.
Create any inspections or risk assessments you plan to complete offline.
Inspections and risk assessments cannot be started/created when offline.
You can only complete inspections and risk assessments that have been created and assigned to you before you went offline.
Here’s what you can do while offline:
Report an EHS Incident manually.
Report a hazard.
Report a finding.
Create an Action.
Open, edit, and complete an Inspection.
Open, edit, and complete a Risk Assessment.
